The Culpeper History Tour
Description This general tour of the whole museum provides students an overview of each gallery. Culpeper has a vast history and the exhibits range in scope from prehistory through the 20th Century. Major themes that may be included throughout the tour include; geography, transportation, economics, domestic life and military conflict.

Triassic Culpeper: The Dinosaurs of Stevensburg
Description Students trek through Culpeper's days of the dinosaurs, learning about dinosaurs, their habitat, and the science of paleoichnology, while examining a locally excavated pair or 215 million year old tracks. Program includes a "hands-on" learning activity.

African American Heritage Tour
Description Students trace Culpeper's African American people from the Colonial period through present day. Program examines Culpeper's Black heritage including slavery, the "free blacks", emancipation, the Freedman's Bureau, segregation and Jim Crow Laws and Civil Rights. Also, included is an activity that reflects the vast influence African Americans have had on our modern day culture.

18th C. Culpeper: Backwoods Virginia and the Quest for Independence
Description Students will explore Culpeper's role in the settling of America as well as the quest for independence. Students will learn of the legendary Culpeper Minuteman and explore the economic, political and religious challenges of this rural community from settlement through the American Revolution. Participants visit the Burgandine house, a restored log cabin, to discover how 18th century Culpeper's residents lived.

19th Century Culpeper: The Civil War, Culpeper's Crisis
Description Students experience the boom of cannons and road of battle, while viewing the Civil War through the eyes of Culpeper's citizens and soldiers. Program explores the elements leading up to the conflict, the lure of Culpeper as a battle site, the four years of turmoil on Culpeper soil and the struggle to rebuild the community. A "hands-on" activity is part of this program.
