Planning Your School Trip
SCHEDULING YOUR VISIT
- Time Frame
- Please schedule your visit to the Museum as far in advance as possible.
Applications should be received no later than three weeks before your visit.
- Pre-Planning Your Tour
- The Museum offers an optional pre-planning session for teachers and aides.
This session provides suggestions for pre and post visit classroom discussion and
provides the teacher a preview of the program. We encourage you to take advantage
of this planning tool.
- Group Size
- While Gallery tours are ideally presented to groups of 25-30, we are happy to
accommodate larger classes by dividing into small groups. Additional chaperones
may be required according to age or class size. Tour times can be customized
based on the age and class size.
FEES
- Fee Schedule
- All Gallery tours require a fee of $2 per student. Teachers and aides will be
admitted no charge. Up to one chaperone per ten students will also be admitted at
no charge. Please see tour descriptions for special tour fees.
- How/When do we pay?
- Payment is due upon your arrival at the Museum. We accept cash, business or
personal checks.
- What is included in the fee?
- One or more tour guides - all supplies for programs with "hands-on" learning
activities - pre-planning session for teachers/aides - take home materials for
programs with activities - a special gift from the Museum of Culpeper History.
SOL APPLICATIONS
- Meeting SOL requirements
- All programs and tours meet several of Virginia's Standards of Learning
requirements. Under each tour/program description, we have listed possible SOL
applications. These are only suggestions. Please feel free to contact the museum,
as every effort will be made to adapt programs and tours to fit your SOL
requirements.
