Directions & Parking

A ride on the Trolley is included in your Saturday ticket, which allows you to move easily from one end of the tour route to the other.

Parking
There is free parking available in the rear of the Museum of Culpeper History (803 S. Main Street), at the Virginia Community Bank lot (12-4:30 pm) across Mason Street from the museum and in the Culpeper United Methodist Church's lot next to Rt 29. Please consult the parking in Culpeper map to find other parking locations in downtown Culpeper. (Requires Adobe Reader also.)

Traveling to Culpeper
For those visitors coming from out of town, we have included a map and directions. Once you approach the Town of Culpeper, road signs will guide you to the Museum of Culpeper History in Historic Downtown Culpeper. For directions to the Tour area, please follow the information below.

From Washington DC/I-66
Take Rt. 66 West to Rt. 29 South at Gainesville. Exit 43A (sign will say Warrenton 29 South). Travel approximately 35 miles on Rt. 29 South to second Culpeper exit (Rt. 3, sign will say Fredericksburg/Culpeper). Turn right onto Rt. 3 and go to second light. Turn right on to Main Street. Turn right on to Mason Street, and immediately right into the Museum’s parking lot.

From Charlottesville/I-64
Travel Rt. 29 North and exit Rt. 29 Business/Culpeper. Continue on Rt. 29/BUS straight to Mason Street. Turn right onto Mason Street and right into the Museum’s parking lot.

From Fredericksburg/I-95
Take Rt. 3 West to Culpeper. Turn right onto Main Street, right onto Mason Street, and right into the Museum’s parking lot.

Directions to The Brawdus Martin Germanna Visitor Center: Take Rt. 29 Business South (Main St) from the Museum of Culpeper History. Turn left on Rt. 3 East toward Fredericksburg. After crossing over the Rapidan River and entering Orange County, turn right into the Germanna Community College campus. The visitor center is on the right. View map/directions here.
