The Scott House
1219 S. Blue Ridge Avenue

The Scott House was custom designed and built in 1952 by George R. Robson Company by the P.W. Fore, Jr. family. Built in the Colonial style, it is still occupied by the original owner whose Culpeper family roots reach back to 1717! Many beautiful antiques grace the six rooms that will be open to the public, including a walnut corner cabinet, cherry china press, and several mahogany dressers. Some of the interesting heirlooms include an 1824 sampler worked by Eliza Ann Leech (at the age of 9) which hangs in the hall, and a 1920s ship captain’s clock that rings bells on the hour.
Many colorful stories will be shared with guests; be sure to ask about Mrs. Scott’s great aunt´s portrait hanging over the mantle in the living room! The house will be decorated with Scott family holiday treasures collected over the last 50 years.
